I finished my ‘Short Stories’ project, that considered life as a series of short, tragic but hopeful stories in the summer. Then, in October, my eldest daughter died.
This series was produced in a fog in the weeks following her death.
The central theme is that, for all our significance to one another, we leave little imprint on the universe. I wanted to the images to be elemental and untamed, so I filled them with light and waves and my pain.
Despite this, I think they’re the most poignant and beautiful images I’ve ever produced.
